Atty. Zuleika Lopez, isinugod sa Veterans Medical Center; VP Sara, kasamang sumakay sa ambulansya
PANOORIN: Dinala sa Veterans Memorial Hospital si Atty. Zuleika Lopez dakong alas-3:00 ng umaga ng Sabado, November 23, dahil umano sa panic attack. Kasama ni Lopez na sumakay sa ambulansya si Vice President Sara Duterte. Ito ay matapos ipag-utos ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability na ilipat si Lopez sa Women’s Correctional Institution sa Mandaluyong City.
Si Lopez, ang Chief of Staff ni VP Sara, ay idinetine sa HOR matapos ma-cite in contempt sa nakaraang hearing ng Kamara sa confidential fund ng OVP. Nasa HOR naman ang pangalawang pangulo upang ito ay samahan sa mga gabi ng pananatili sa House premises.
Bagaman pormal na humiling ng pahintulot si VP Sara na payagan siyang manatili doon partikular sa opisina ng kanyang kapatid na si Congressman Paolo Duterte, hindi ito pinayagan ng HOR dahil labag umano ito sa security protocol ng Batasang Pambansa.
“That was the decision of the members of the Committee. We do not decide alone. Security risk na po kasi sa Congress because the VP does not want to leave the premises. The Congress does not have the capability to secure the VP and the Congress at the same time,” pahayag ni Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua, ang chairman ng komite, sa isang mensahe sa UNTV.
